Desktop App Install Guide

Beta version. Thanks for testing

Because the app is in beta and not yet signed with a code signing certificate, your computer will show a security warning when you first open it. This is normal. Follow the steps below for your platform.

Apple Silicon

Mac (M1 / M2 / M3 / M4)

Download for Mac (Apple Silicon)
  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Talisk Mail to your Applications folder
  2. Go to Applications in Finder
  3. Right-click (or Control-click) Talisk Mail and choose Open
  4. A dialog will say it's from an unidentified developer. Click Open to confirm
  5. You only need to do this once. After that it opens normally
If you see "Talisk Mail is damaged"
Open Terminal (search for it in Spotlight) and paste this command: xattr -cr /Applications/Talisk\ Mail.app Then right-click and Open again as described above.

Follow the same steps as above.

Windows

  1. Run the downloaded Talisk-Mail_x64-setup.exe
  2. If Windows SmartScreen says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway
  3. The app installs and opens automatically
If your antivirus quarantines the file
Some antivirus software (Norton, McAfee, etc.) may flag the installer because it's not yet signed. Open your antivirus, find the quarantined file, and choose Restore or Allow. Then run the installer again.

The app is not malicious. It's a standard desktop app that connects to talisk.ai.
