The assistant answers about one book at a time

Every conversation with the assistant belongs to one book: the book that was active when you asked the first question. The banner above the chat names it. Follow-up questions build on the earlier turns, so the assistant can answer "and what about last month?" without you repeating what you asked.

What happens when you switch books

If you switch to another book and then ask a follow-up in the same chat, TALISK_HQ starts a new conversation in the new book instead of continuing the old one. A note appears in the chat where the split happened, naming both books, with a link to open the earlier conversation.

Nothing from the earlier conversation is carried across. That is deliberate: what the assistant said about one business must never be in front of it while it answers about another. Bookkeepers running several clients rely on this, and it applies to every account.

The earlier conversation is not deleted. It stays in Past conversations, labelled with its own book, and you can open it any time. Asking a question in it while a different book is active starts a fresh conversation again.

Older conversations

Conversations started before TALISK_HQ began tying conversations to a book are kept for reading. Asking a follow-up in one of them starts a new conversation in your current book, with the same note in the chat. The old thread stays where it was.

Working in two books at once

The assistant follows the active book, and TALISK_HQ works in one book at a time per app. To keep a conversation going in each of two books, use a second client, for example the desktop app for one book and your web browser for the other. Each holds its own active book and its own conversation.
