How do I set up a new set of books

Each separate business gets its own book in TALISK_HQ, and there's a guided path to set one up.

Start here. Go to Ledger › Setup › Guide, a five-step checklist: set up your business, add clients and vendors, import bank statements, send your first invoice, and share a snapshot with your bookkeeper. Each step links straight to where you do it.

For a guided walkthrough. Use the Set up your books banner's Get started button. It asks whether you're starting fresh or switching from other software, then collects your business type, province, and fiscal year-end.

Switching from another system? The wizard's opening-balances step is where you set your conversion date and starting balances. Get this date right: activity dated before it is treated as history that's already in your opening balances. If you're coming from QuickBooks or Xero, see how to bring your numbers in.

On currency. Books are kept in CAD, so there's no currency to pick during setup. A USD or GBP bill still carries its own currency and converts into your CAD books when it posts.

To add another business, create it as its own book.
