Read your Balance Sheet
- Go to Ledger › Reports and open the Balance Sheet tab.
- Set the As of date at the top and click Update: the report only refreshes when you click it, not as you type.
- Read down: assets, then liabilities, then equity. The subtitle Assets = Liabilities + Equity is the check the report must satisfy.
Everything is drawn from your posted journal entries and is cumulative up to the date you pick. Use Export CSV to download it.
If a red Warning: Balance sheet is out of balance banner appears, a journal entry doesn't balance: find and correct that entry (Books Health will usually point at it); the report itself is just reflecting the ledger.
Good to know: The Balance Sheet is a snapshot as of one date, not a range, and it's always
on an accrual basis: the Cash / Accrual toggle on the P&L doesn't apply here.
If it ever shows out of balance, a journal entry is unbalanced; fix that
rather than the report.
