Answer a calendar invitation from your email

Open this in Talisk HQ

When an email carries a meeting invitation, TALISK_HQ shows it as a card at the top of the message, on a computer and on your phone: the event name, when it is (in your own time zone), where, and who organised it. Updated marks a changed invitation and Repeats a recurring one.

Answer it

Click Accept, Maybe or Decline. The answer is sent straight away: there is no undo window, as there is for an email you write. TALISK_HQ emails it to the organizer from the mailbox the invitation arrived in, as a reply in the invitation's conversation, carrying the standard calendar answer that calendar apps such as Google Calendar and Outlook read. The organizer always gets a short readable note as well ("you have accepted this invitation"), so they hear from you even if their calendar does not update itself. The card then shows Your response. You can change your answer by clicking another button; each click sends a new reply.

There are no answer buttons when the invitation does not name exactly one organizer to answer, or when you are reading a client's mail as their bookkeeper (answering would send mail from their mailbox).

TALISK_HQ does not write to your own calendar. To put the event in it, click Add to calendar: this downloads the event as a calendar file that your calendar app opens.

Cancelled events

When the organizer cancels, the card says Cancelled and offers nothing to click.

When the time shows a zone name

If the invitation was written in a time zone TALISK_HQ cannot place, the card shows the time exactly as written with the zone's name beside it, rather than guessing.

Good to know: Talisk reads the invitation inside the email and answers it by email. It does not connect to your calendar, so it does not add the event to Google Calendar or Outlook for you: use Add to calendar for that. It does not create, move or cancel events, and it cannot answer an invitation you organised yourself.
