Clear out Spam and Trash

Open this in Talisk HQ

Spam and Trash each have a one-click way to clear everything in them.

Delete all spam

  1. Open Spam in the sidebar.
  2. Click Delete all spam in the bar pinned above the messages.
  3. Confirm.

Every message in Spam for the mailbox you are viewing is permanently deleted from TALISK_HQ. Your other mailboxes are not touched, and nothing in your inbox or the Filtered tab is affected. The bar only appears when Spam has messages in it.

Empty Trash

  1. Open Trash in the sidebar.
  2. Click the bin icon in the header (Empty Trash).
  3. Confirm.

What happens in your mailbox

On an Outlook mailbox, Delete all spam deletes the messages from Outlook too, without passing through Deleted Items, and Empty Trash removes them from Deleted Items. On a Gmail mailbox, Delete all spam moves the messages to Gmail's Trash, and Gmail empties its Trash after 30 days. On an IMAP mailbox, Empty Trash removes the messages from your mail server's Trash too, while spam stays on the server. Either way they will not come back into TALISK_HQ.

Neither action can be undone, so look through the folder before you confirm.

Good to know: Delete all spam and Empty Trash permanently delete every message in that folder of the mailbox you are viewing. Neither can be undone. On Gmail, Talisk cannot purge under the access it holds: spam moves to Gmail's Trash and Gmail empties its Trash after 30 days. On IMAP, Empty Trash also clears the server's Trash; spam stays on the server.
