Create an invoice from an uploaded document
If you already raised an invoice somewhere else (in QuickBooks, Xero, or on paper) you can import it instead of retyping it. TALISK_HQ reads the document and fills in the invoice form for you to review.
- Go to Invoicing and start a new invoice.
- Click Import from a document and pick a PDF or a photo of the invoice.
- TALISK_HQ reads it and prefills the client, line items, dates, and invoice number. Review every field.
- If the client name matches one of your existing clients it is selected automatically. If not, pick the client (or add them first from the Clients page).
- Confirm the details and save the invoice like any other.
About the tax: TALISK_HQ always computes the sales tax from the line items and the province, so it is correct for your books. If the document printed a different tax total, TALISK_HQ shows it as a comparison labelled "The document showed" so you can check the line items and province. The document figure is never used as the posted amount.
The document you imported is kept with the created invoice as its source document, so you always have the original on file. Importing reads the document only; nothing is added to your books until you save the invoice.
