Record a credit-card payment

Open this in Talisk HQ

When you pay your credit card from your bank account, that's money moving between two accounts you own, not a new expense. Record it as a transfer so it's never counted as a cost:

  1. On Ledger › Banking › Transactions, find the payment leaving your bank account (a money-out line).
  2. Click Card payment, and if you have more than one card, pick which card was paid.

Talisk books it as a transfer (reducing your bank balance and paying down the card's balance) and the line shows a transfer chip. Click Undo on the chip to reverse it.

For this to work, the credit card must exist as a Credit card account (add one under Banking › Accounts). Talisk can't mark a line that's already matched to a bill: unmatch it first.

Good to know: A credit-card payment is a transfer between your own accounts, not an expense: recording it as a category would double-count it. You need the credit card set up as a card account first, and the bank line must be unmatched (unmatch it from any bill before marking it a transfer).
