Post a manual journal entry
For an adjustment that no other screen posts, use a manual journal entry:
- Go to Ledger › Accounting › Journal and click New Entry.
- Set the Date and a Memo, then add lines: an account plus a Debit or Credit on each. Use + Add Line for more.
- Watch the Total Debits / Total Credits footer show Balanced, then click Create Entry.
Every posting in Talisk lands in this log, so most rows here are created for you by bills, invoices, and bank activity. You can edit or delete only the entries you posted by hand; the rest are read-only. Search the log with the search box, or filter by date and source.
An entry won't save unless it balances, and you can't post or change one in a locked period.
Good to know: A journal entry only saves when total debits equal total credits, and only
entries you posted by hand can be edited or deleted: system-generated entries
are read-only. Entries dated in a locked period are blocked.
