Your Outlook folders in TALISK_HQ

Open this in Talisk HQ

Outlook and Gmail organise mail differently, and TALISK_HQ follows whichever mailbox you are looking at rather than pretending they are the same.

On an Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox the sidebar section under your inbox is called Folders, and it lists what Outlook lists: Deleted Items, Junk Email, and every folder you have made yourself. A folder inside another folder appears as Parent / Child, so a folder called Acme inside one called Clients reads Clients / Acme. On a Gmail mailbox the same section is called Labels and lists your Gmail labels.

Click any folder to see the mail in it.

If you have several mailboxes open in desktop tabs, each tab shows the folders or labels of the account that tab is on, so a Gmail tab and an Outlook tab can sit side by side saying different things. That is correct.

Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts and Archive are not repeated in the Folders list. They already have their own places in the sidebar above it.

What TALISK_HQ Filtered is

When you filter a sender on an Outlook mailbox, TALISK_HQ moves that mail into a folder called TALISK_HQ Filtered. That is how mail leaves an Outlook inbox, so your Outlook inbox and your TALISK_HQ inbox agree with each other.

You will see the folder in Outlook itself. You will not see it in the TALISK_HQ sidebar, on purpose: the Filtered tab in TALISK_HQ is the place to read filtered mail, and a duplicate row would only be clutter. Returning a message to your inbox from the Filtered tab moves it back.

What is not here yet

Outlook categories (the coloured tags you can put on a message) are not shown in TALISK_HQ yet. Your categories are untouched in Outlook; TALISK_HQ simply does not read or set them for now.

TALISK_HQ also does not create, rename or delete your Outlook folders. If you want a new folder, make it in Outlook and it will appear in TALISK_HQ on the next refresh.

Good to know: Talisk shows your Outlook folders; it does not create, rename or delete them, and the only folder it makes for you is Talisk Filtered. Outlook categories are not shown yet. On a Gmail mailbox the same sidebar section is called Labels, because that is what Gmail has.
