How do I create an invoice

Create an invoice in three steps, and TALISK_HQ handles the tax and the totals.

How to do it.

  1. Go to Invoicing › Invoices.
  2. Click Create Invoice.
  3. Pick the client, add your line items (or let TALISK_HQ draft them from rough notes), and save.

TALISK_HQ applies the client's sales tax automatically, taken from the client's province and then your book's business province, so set those (or mark a client tax-exempt) before you invoice or the tax line will be off.

After you save. From the saved invoice you can email it to the client and later record the payment against it. If a client pays in instalments, you record each partial payment and the invoice stays open for the balance.

Good to know. You can also invoice in a foreign currency by picking it in the Currency field: your client sees their currency, and your books record the home-currency value at the invoice date. Quotes and recurring invoices live under the other Invoicing tabs.
